Third article Lesson one

 PATIENCE

Patience is the quality of being patient. To be patient means to be willing to wait if necessary; not losing one's temper while waiting. It also means physically able to suffer or bear.

Mayowa's parents were not able to wait, to physically suffer hunger for a day, therefore, they went out on that day they knew that they ought not to go out and they could not make it back home alive.

Some words associated with patience in the Bible include endurance, waiting, staying and steadfastness. Please note that while you are waiting, you are not wasting. Many people think they are wasting their time by waiting on the Lord and doing accurately his bidding but no, they are wrong. "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31) Romans 8:24-25 MSG says "That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, don't see what is enlarging us. Romans 8:25 But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy." The longer we wait, the larger we become. The larger our capacity to hold what God is bringing our way.

Waiting is a prerequisite for manifestation, newness, for obtaining promises. Also note that waiting encompasses one's attitude while waiting. From the definition of being patient, we could see the clause: not losing one's temper while waiting. For some of us, it is waiting and grumbling, waiting and getting bitter, waiting and getting jealous of those in their season of manifestation or those who we consider higher or better than us.

Your attitude while waiting is important. Develop a right attitude to God while waiting. Be careful not to jump into any available ship because of lack of patience. You must know that it is not all ships that are headed to the same destination as yours, patiently wait for the right ship that is going to your own destination.

Hebrews 10:36 "For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise."

I see God helping us in Jesus name. I call you blessed. Till another time, I love you with all my heart.
