 2) Prayerlessness: James 5:17-18 "Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit."  Even after delay is for an appointed time, we need to understand when its timing is over, in order to avoid prolonged delay. Elijah prayed earnestly that it would not rain and it did not rain on ground for three years and six months. In 1 Kings 18:41, Elijah prophesied about a sound of abundance of rain and to bring it to pass, he went to pray earnestly. 1 Kings 18:42. Prayerlessness prolongs delay but prayer brings it to an end. Hannah went up to Shiloh to pray unto the Lord and made a vow. I Samuel 1:10-11. She had been delayed in Child bearing; the Lord shut up her womb. She prayed unto God to remember her.  LESSON ONE From the first episode in article two, we could see how Prince and Mrs Adeyori sought for a fruit of the womb for many years. It was a great moment of trial for them as they faced a lot of abuses, especially Mrs Adeyori. She was abused and called derogatory names. However, on the long run, after eight years of marriage, they gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. Hallelujah! Delay is not denial. That you were delayed in getting a thing or a position does not imply that you won't get it or get there; as long as it is God's will. We must note that as children of God, we should only seek for God's will and nothing else, no matter how peasant that thing may be, if it is not God's will, we should not even desire it, but if it is God's will, we should hold on; if there happens to be a delay. Now, delay happens for some reasons.  1) Appointed timing: Ecclesiastes 3:1 says "To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven". The...

EPISODE THREE (FINAL EPISODE) John's father returned the same day, from a business trip to Abuja and was informed about John's new behaviour and his decision to follow Jesus. He was highly excited and exclaimed "that's my boy!, I'm so proud of you. Now you can do much more than we have ever done". He continued, "It was through the grace of God that I was able to resist the urge to get married to another woman when family and friends were on my neck to do so, I really thank God that His grace has found you". Both parents then joined hands with their son and prayed earnestly for him.  John's life turned around. He became a bright student because he stopped being lazy. He read his books daily and his Bible consistently. On Saturdays, John would go to his discipler's house (i.e. Mr. Afolarin's house) to learn more about the word of God. He was growing fast in the Spirit and he began to share some lessons with his friends. People began to call...

 EPISODE TWO John began to grow and he was enrolled in the best school in that city. He had all he wanted. In short, he was spoiled with goodies. Yes, he was the only son. Prince and Mrs Adeyori tried to have another child but they couldn't. This made John to think highly of himself. One day, his mother was talking to him about his behaviour. His reply was that his parents were very lucky to have had him. If he were not around, would they be talking to him like that?. He got the beating of his life that day. He was surprised that his mum, who never laid hands on him to beat him like that, could do so. He cried so much, much more as a result of the disappointment he'd just got and that event was what led to his brokenness.  On Sunday morning when he got to church, John, who used to beat up the other boys and even some girls, sat gently and could not respond well to the Sunday school teacher.   Episode one John was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Adeyori. His father was a prince but was not interested in such rulership therefore he allowed his younger brother to continue their family royalty. He was much more interested in business so, he ventured into different lucrative businesses and was very successful in all. Prince Adeyori got married to Adebanke some eight years before John was born and it was a glorious wedding. Families, friends, neighbours, relatives, Well-wishers and even saloon cars were present on the wedding day. Foods and drinks were supplied in abundance; everyone ate to their fill and took packaged foods and drinks home. The Couple's joy knew no bounds after the success of the wedding ceremony because everyone present for the ceremony, got back to their respective destinations successfully including those who travelled in airplanes. Trust you have been enjoying your read from this blog and you've been greatly blessed. All glory belong to God. I wish to commend you for reading through this far. You are greatly blessed of the Lord. Today, by God's grace, we conclude the lessons drawn from the first article on MaryD's Life Lessons blog. Glory be to God in the Highest. We will be considering Prayer of Thanksgiving. Chioma's heart of thanksgiving was greatly expressed in that she rolled on the floor of her father's house and gave thanks to the Almighty God. Hmmn. That is worthy of note. Our posture while giving thanks matters. It's not like it's everytime we must kneel down or roll on the floor to give God praise, but, it's a matter of the heart.  LIFE LESSONS DRAWN FROM THE FIRST ARTICLE (3)  Another ingredient for prayer is Faith. When we pray, we must have a believing heart. Don't doubt God. James 1:6-8 "6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." Believe that you are talking to a prayer answering Father who loves you and is willing to give you all you desire according to His will. You see, God will only answer according to his will. James 4:2-3 "2Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts."
